Well I havnt really had anything Cosplay related to right about.
There were some gatherings but I didnt dress up so figured I shouldnt post. Still they were fun. It'll be interesting to see what happens in 3 weeks once I'm out of school. Getting to those San Fran gatherings will be a lot harder.I did get to go to Yaoi-con where I bought a pillow and doujin. Ah ha maybe when I have time tomorrow I'll cover that, or at least what I can remember.
Hopefully there will be an Anime Palace Christmas Party like last year.

End of Hypercon
It was a very tiny convention but I was about to make a little money, very little, hardly any... but then I spent some so my bad.
The table cost $35 and I spent about $40 on little things.
In total I made about $144 I believe, so yeah I did make some money, least I didnt lose any. I only sold 3 prints and to the people that bought them thank you so much! I was really flattered when asked to sign them, I'm sorry my handwriting isnt anything fancy.
Would I do it again? Maybe, as I wont be in San Fran next time so it will depend because if I cant make back enough money it wont be worth it. I spent most of the money on these adorable ToraDora figures. I also got to sit next to a friend of mine so I wasnt too lonely. Today I also got to meet some more people and they all gave me great advice, mostly towards my animation career. Thank you so much, I hope we can keep in touch.
Next weekend is NCC monthly meet up at the ice skating rink. So I'm dressing as a panda, last minute thing Dana suggested I do, lol. Then i October is Anime Destiny which I still am not sure about and Yaoi-con which I really want to go to at least once.

Hypercon day 1
So I got back some hours ago from Hypercon and just now remembered my little blog, I've been so neglectful, not just this blog but my school one as well.
I set off early in the morning to some heavy mist that almost seemed like rain. The cart was a hasty to push around and get on the bus. As I got off at my first top the two front wheels of my cart came off. I pushed on and made it to the con. It would kind of like a community center and we we plus the vendors were in the gym area. The panels and gaming room were elsewhere. I set up quickly, with not a lot to show off and waited around about an hour or more for things to begin. I was lucky enough to sit next to a friend.
I should about 25ish buttons plus 2 prints. It was a bit embrassing to sign them as I think my handwriting is terrible.
I only made about $80, there is no way I'll reach my goal of $250 =( too bad. I left mostly everything there when it was time to lock up. I'm glad I did because the bus back was ridiculously packed! There is no way I would have gotten that cat onto that bus and be able to get it out again. I'm fearful of tomorrow. My only hope is that it wont be very busy because it's Sunday or maybe I can get a ride.
One can pray.

Hypercon Next Weekend
A New anime convention is happening next weekend and I have a table. My buttons should be fully ready but I'm unsure about my prints. Also I wanted to get a few cards made by then but it looks like I wont be able to do that either. There had been trouble with my printer a long time with horizontal lines going through it. I never noticed on text and buttons veyr much because they are so small. It wasnt until I started printing for class. after spending hours online I finally found time to call up Espon. The man who helped me in every way he could think of he said they would send me a new one in 2-7 business days. I gave them my info and credit card, they took a desposite to make sur eI wasnt stealing printers, understandable. Today was day 7 and no sign of the package so I decided to call up espon again and ask for a tracking number. The woman I got said that the logs never indicated that my order had been sent out. So we reordered it. Luckily the man hadnt just taken my credit card info and ran, I checked.
So to make a long story short I dont know if I'll get my printer in time. As a result I wont have Prints. I dont feel like going to Kinkos and spending that kind of money.

I live!

I'm alive really! But sense only a few people know about this blog I'm sure you all knew that.
I havnt gotten much farther on my flaaffy cosplay as the last few weeks before moving back into the school appartments became crazy.
Back up everything on your comp! I cant stress this enough >_< I found out the hard way. But I'm ok after a small panic attack of changing most of the stuff in my comp.
My roommate and I are now paying for our own internet, I wanted to do this a year ago but we never did. Now we both wish we had. It's so nice to have our own fast connection, without worrying about passwords. Also we can hook up our printers and gaming consoles to it. whee!
Did you all see the Miku picture I did? I really want to do a BlackRock Shooter one too but I dont think I have time before Hypercon. I will be having a table there and invite you all to come and see it. I'll be selling my buttons of course and hopefully a few prints (very few).
School is off to a running start. I already have a lot of homework. Of course the first few weeks you got to get back into the groove of school and they ask you to be all super creative.

Busy the past few days
So I have a Yui Listen cosplay to finish. I got the shirt done yesterday. The iron on stuff worked out wonderful, it looks so pro! I tried painting the earrings and bracelets but the paint didnt work out so well. I'll try to find spray paint again but they didnt have it in the color I wanted last time. I guess I'll have to go with that sparkle one I saw because the other green was much too dark.
There are two events this weekend.
One is a tea party that seems to also but much more than a tea party. Theres a big list of people going os I wonder how huge this is actually going to be.
The second is the Nor-Cal Conventions group. Gonna have to travel up to San Fran for once sense I'm not there for school at the moment. It sound be fun. I plan to try and make a bento for both so I dont have to buy food.

Dark Oniko

I finally started drawing again. It's tough with work and school work. Then I have to make time for friends because I dont really get to see them during the long semesters in school. Once I finally finish inking this I'm actually going to experiments on coloring her different ways. I want to break away from simple "cel" shading and give my drawings more depth. I hate her feet and I'm not too thrilled with her dress but after hours of trying different outfits this was best. My favorite things are her hair and face.
I'm also working on my Yui Listen version cosplay. I have everything but the green earrings and the design on the shirt. I bought iron on paper from the fabric store the other day so it shouldnt be too hard to make it work, I hope XD I'm tried of spending money.
8/21 I plan to go to Okage-sama's Tea Party. First time ever going but I was invited and feel I really should, plus so many people are going so it must be a big todo with lots of fun.
8/22 Is the Nor-Cal August meet up in San Fran. If anyone else would like to do I can give you info. They have a facebook page. You dont have to come in costume but it's a good reason to!
8/27 This will hopefully be the day I move back into my apartment in San Francisco because school will be starting again. Last semester!!!

Octopi!!

I'm gonna try making bento lunches for the gatherings I go to. I havnt decided if I'll be going to the august 21 or 22 or BOTH! But bringing a bento might help my hunger and money problems. I tried making rabbit apples first but my blade isnt sharp enough so I almost cut myself. When I find a sharper knight I'll try again....
I did however make hotdog octopus. I think they use susages but this works too. I made the middle extra piece into a squid. this is a win! I'm putting this in the bento. Too cute. I'll be trying other things as well. I'm a picky eater so dont expect anything too fancy.

My witty tail
Final! Finally I have started sowing. I feel like I got pretty far too, only to get thrown back some.
So I made the tail which turned out awesome. I'm really happy with how straight it is and I dont think it'll be too heavy for the costume. We'll have to see once I add the ball at the end and actually finish it. What set me back was the tail is much more far down on the costume then I realized. it's basically hanging beweteen my legs rather on my butt. The pattern I'm going from in a penguin, should have seen that coming. So now I'm going back and undoing all the stitch which takes a lof time because this thing is freaking long! I might sow tomorrow, or Tuesday.
In other news I'm starting another quickie cosplay for fun. Yui from the Listen ending of K-on. I dont have to wear a wig for it or do much sowing besides the pattern on a shirt. I'm also painting her earrings because I doubt I'll find green ones. This should be fun because I can walk around the city and not really care about people looking at me. The only think I wont have in her red boots. I looked all over, 5 different stores and nothing. I dont feel like paying a lot on this costume so I'll just use my black or brown ones.

Big weekend
So with Saturday off for once and only going in for 4 hours on Sunday I plan go do a lot of sowing this weekend. That means today I have a lot of cutting today.
The only problems I see myself running into is that they patterns instructions want me the attach the tail as pretty much step 2 and I still havnt completely determined yet how I want to do that... I need to make sure it's not too heavy but still want it to stand up. I also still havnt decided what to use for the ball on the end of it.
Oh well I'm sure I can figure something out hopefully.
I still need to buy stuffing but for today I'll get the tail cut out. I can probably also get the sleeves started. Like I said I can probably go back to the tail later.
P.S. I just but Personal 3 Portable. I kept hearing good things about the series for a long time so I hope I will be impressed.

New games!
I downloaded two new games for my CycloDS.
The first is a game that has been out for awhile already Tales of Innocence. Yes it is part of the Tales of series but have never made it to the US. However there was a team working on translating it for a very long time. I discovered today that the team is finally done, having just made it in time with their June release promise. I justed finished gettign the patch to work and will be playing more today while also trying to get my math homework done...hee hee. As a lover of tales games however I'm sure I wont be disappointed. If the tales games do so well over here on consoles I'm really surprised they dont bring over the DS versions. There is still the Tales of hearts games. And I hear there is a new title coming out on the Wii as well .
Ok so I'm fairly new to this game, but I've seen it talked about a lot. People just cant get enough to hitting and banging on those drums. I decided it's time I try to have a go at it. The latest game just came out and I'm downloading it as we speak. Here is hoping there isnt any protective ware on it and I can try it out as soon as possible. I hope it's as fun as everyone says it is.

Pink Fabric
So here is the cut out pieces of the body. It's pretty pink huh? And the funny part is I hate pink, but I love flaaffy. Even a shiny flaaffy is still pink.
You can also see the buttons I have decided to use. the pattern calls for velcro but I think that buttons will have a cute appeal.
After reading the steps in the pattern I found out they want you do do the tail in part two, so almost right away. I havnt cut out the tail for two reasons. First off I need to buy the second color for the strips on the tail. I also need to find some kind of ball to put on the end like flaaffy has. this doesnt even include the other problems! Such as stuffing, if I need to add a wire, and how to attach the ball to the tail end....sigh.
I wanted to try sowing some time this week but I need to figure out these problems first.

Flaaffy cosplay Starting

ok so I got my insane amount of pink fabric, fleece. and patterns.
Here's what I'm going, it's a merge of two designs.
The flaaffy picture you see brought forth the idea while I saw a bunch of people at fanime walking around in pajama like costumes. So the hair is not going to be a wig but rather a hood witht he ears on the hood as well.
The fleece seems a little see-through but I picked it over the more expensive stuff anyways because that was much heavier. I can always wear tights under it or something.
This pattern is huge, so huge. It's a penguin pattern from simplicity and it fits what I was almost exactly for the body. I just plan to cop the ends f the wings off to be plain sleeves and make the hood a little different. The tail is actually just what I wanted.
I cut out the pattern pieces today and tomorrow I plain to at least cut out the body.

NorNorCal Summer Picnic!
I went to a gathering yesterday that was very fun! It was hosted by Becca and Oscar who did an amazing job hosting and were very helpful. I was nervous as always because I was coming alone but knew I would meet people there I knew and make new friends. What made me even more nervous was the amount of professional photographers. I have never had a photoshoot and don't know how to pose very well yet with certain characters. Action ones and cutesy ones I can do but Holo was a bit harder for me to think of anything. So sorry to the camera men that had to work with me!
I still had a fun time. Surprised that there was no more fruit salad left by the time to clean up. The park was beautiful and the day was great. I mostly just stuck to small group, hoping from place to place. I also got to go look around the Japanese friendship garden .
If this is going on next year I will certainly go again.
